The Heli-Tank is a collapsible tank designed primarily to be slung beneath Helicopters to fly water or fuel rapidly to remote or inaccessible locations. The specifically designed pod shape of the tank enables stable flight when full or partially full, enabling partial offloading en route. Features:

  Fabric Pod: The shaping of panels ensures the tank forms an aerodynamic pod shape for in-flight stability. Fuel: Manufactured from two layers of heavy-duty 1350gsm / 40 oz US Military Spec. fuel grade fabric, the tank is highly robust and suitable for the containment and transport of hydrocarbons. Potable Water: Manufactured from heavy-duty 1150gsm / 32 oz US Military Spec. Potable water grade fabric, the tank is robust and suitable for the containment and transport of drinking water. Connection for flight: The HeliTank is supplied complete with an incorporated lifting harness terminating into a single lifting ring able to be connected direct to the aircrafts load hook or suspended below the helicopter by a typical cargo pendulum set (recommended). Filling & fittings: The HeliTank is fitted with 1 x base fill & discharge fitting 2”/50mm with gate valve. Filling is carried out by connecting a suitable coupler & hose and filling the tank. Potable water; the tank is fill once the over pressure relief valve vents water. Fuel; the tank is full once volume is reached or at any time fuel is seen beginning to flow into the clear overflow sight hose fitted to the top of the tank. (prior to this the valve will vent any residual air within the HeliTank). Self – Adjusting Shape: When partially full the HeliTank self-adjusts by gathering excess fabric and maintains a pod shape. This provides a stable shape for flight at all times and enables the partial offloading en route to multiple sites. Lifting Harness: Each HeliTank is supplied with a multiple leg load certified heavy-duty web sling system which radiates from the base of the pod passing through alignment lugs terminating at a single lifting ring. This webbing sling system is designed to cradle the pod without point loading the fabric. When on the ground or vehicle deck the slings double as guys to stabilise the tank.
